Design is when designer design a design to produce a design

My thoughts on designs:

The designer constructs a visual, utilizing materials and concepts using their design skills.

“Designer” is an ambiguous occupation. Society has created and determined conditions for Design to exist. The parameters keep changing with the times. I keep learning something about design every day. The designer tries to conceptualize an assignment. The concept is the designer’s ideas with perceived images for prospective viewers. That concept becomes the basis for visual communication.

Every good design has a secret and the secret comes down to one thing: How information is organized and conveyed visually. Whether it be a web page, mobile phone app or print, information needs to be organized in an efficient, aesthetically pleasing way. Design is a moving subject. It always changes direction with changes in cultures, technologies, economies, politics etc. It’s evolving with the consciousness of our needs and wants. As technologies and services improve, so does design. These 3 things — technology, service, and design — have possibilities for being the priority over the other two. Which one takes precedence depends on the situation.

Yet despite all of the muddles and clichés, for me, design has always had one unwavering role. It is an agent of change that can be used to interpret changes of any type — whether they are personal, political, cultural, social, economic, scientific, environmental, or technological — to help to ensure that they will affect us positively, rather than negatively. Design fulfilled this function for the prehistoric communities that turned caves into shelters, just as it does today by identifying constructive uses for artificial intelligence, quantum computing and other dauntingly powerful technologies that have the potential to be both immensely beneficial, and deeply damaging.

Then I have found this: (http://defining-design.net/learn/why-defining-design-is-important/)

The first usage is as a noun, connoting the field of design as a whole in a very general manner, as in the phrase: “Design is important to national economic competitiveness.” The second usage is as a verb, meaning the action or thought involved in the act of designing. The third also is a noun; this time connoting a plan or intention. Finally, the fourth usage again is a noun, this time meaning the finished product. All the usages have very different meanings, yet even people professionally involved in design continually slip between them, seamlessly moving from one meaning to another without distinction (p. 18).

As a designer, I have been working in digital environments. When I encounter these articles, I feel my work as been driven by new technologies. I must stop whatever I have been doing and look around with taking a deep breath. Think about a role of design.
Designers creations have responsibilities, sometimes more significant responsibilities than we think or expect in society. It must be positive influences.
