It’s interesting to think about who owns your health record and history. We can opt in/out with our individual health care record to centralize which the government is the administrator. The benefit is obvious that any doctor can retrieve your health history so the emergency treatment would be quicker and accurate. Especially elderly people living alone. People who opted out are mostly concerned with privacy issues.
Working at an insurance company, it is really attractive to connect these data with our customers but that cannot happen because of the government legislation. If we could use these data, the customers wouldn’t need to go through the lengthy of application or claim forms.
